Lyrics
here's the lyrics to the video we're most probably going to use.
What a night for a dance, you know I'm a dancing machine
With a fire in my bones and the sweet taste of kerosene
I get lost in the night so high I don't want to come down
To face the loss of the good thing that I've found
In the dark of the night I could hear you calling my name
With the hardest of hearts I still feel full of pain
So I drink and I smoke and I ask you if you're ever around
Even though it was me who drove us right in the ground
See the time we shared it was precious to me
But all the while I was dreaming of revelry
Born to run, baby run like a stream down a mountainside
With the wind in my back I don't ever even bat an eye
Just know it was you all along who had a hold of my heart
But the demon and me were the best of friends from the start
So the time we shared it was precious to me
All the while I was dreaming of revelry
Dreaming of revelry
And I told myself boy away you go, it rained so hard it felt like snow
Everything came tumbling down on me
In the back of the woods in the dark of the night
Paleness of the old moonlight everything just felt so incomplete
Dreaming of revelry
Dreaming of revelry
Dreaming of revelry
Dreaming of revelry
What a night for a dance, you know I'm a dancing machine
With a fire in my bones and the sweet taste of kerosene
I get lost in the night so high I don't want to come down
To face the loss of the good thing that I've found
In the dark of the night I could hear you calling my name
With the hardest of hearts I still feel full of pain
So I drink and I smoke and I ask you if you're ever around
Even though it was me who drove us right in the ground
See the time we shared it was precious to me
But all the while I was dreaming of revelry

In the back of the woods in the dark of the night
Paleness of the old moonlight everything just felt so incomplete
Dreaming of revelry
Dreaming of revelry
Dreaming of revelry
Dreaming of revelry

Song choices
After looking at different types of genres and songs Heather Millie and I have seemed to go in a more indie slower approach. Here's some of the songs we were looking at, but it seems as though we went more towards an indie side. It looks as though our favourite was Revelry by Kings of Leon as it suits the genres we were looking at but also has a drop that we quite like the sound of. We all have many ideas already for the song. The song doesn't have a video which makes sure all our ideas are original.
We like this song as it tells a story and the video doesn't seem to get across any sort of message or theme.

Introduction to A2
As an introduction to our A2 media course we had to look at 2 different themes and pick a music video for each. With the themes Controversial and Unusual here was the 2 music videos I ended up with;
Here's the video i chose for controversial. I chose it because it's different. It's in black and white for starters which isn't your normal music video and it's a very plain video. It's just a man sitting on a chair but the aspects are all very unusual and controversial. The shakey camera effects also create a disturbed theme. I don't think i've ever watched a video where someone throws up after eating a cockroach then commits suicide. It raises a lot of disturbing themes all in one plain video, but all in all I would say this is an effective video. I personally love how his head moves when the music and the beat drop, it looks really professional and in time with the song. The band OFWGKTA who sing this song are a very strange yet amusing group. Their music is very controversial as it's not just your usual music.
I chose Marilyn Manson's 'Saint' for unusual although this can be used for controversial. It has a good use of lighting which create a dark sense . It's got nude and explicit themes which obviously create a controversial opinion of the video. It's drug use and the quick snappy shots which go to the beat all fit in to make the video unusual and dark.
